Generic Zantac (Ranitidine, Zantac® equivalent)
Ranitidine is in a group of medications called histamine-2 blockers. Ranitidine works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces. Ranitidine is used to treat and prevent ulcers in the stomach and intestines. It also treats conditions in which the stomach produces too much acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Ranitidine also treats gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and other conditions in which acid backs up from the stomach into the esophagus, causing heartburn.

FINGERNAILS
The toenails and the fingernails are composed of keratin. They grow faster in children than in adults. The fingernails grow faster than the toenails. The fingernail grows about 12/100ths of an inch a month. The nail of the middle finger grows more rapidly than the rest of the nails and the nail on the little finger grows slowest.
Since the development of manicuring and pedicuring, care of the fingernails and toenails is given much attention. The daily use of a hand-brush to cleanse the skin under the nails is desirable, also the use of ah orangewood stick for cleansing after washing. Weekly filing and trimming will keep the nails reasonably short. Any slight injury that breaks the skin near the fingernails will permit germs to get into the broken skin and set up a secondary infection. Infections around the fingernails are called felons. In severe cases, these felons or run-arounds, scientifically called paronychia, may require surgical attention.
Brittle fingernails are a constant annoyance. The exact cause is not known. A deficiency in the diet, perhaps of amino acids or of vitamins, may be responsible. Improper circulation to the nail plate may cause brittleness.
Cutting the toenails with a clipper is preferable to cutting with either a curved or straight scissors.
