Hoodia
What is Hoodia ?
The heralded south African cactus featured on "60 Minutes", "The Today Show", and in Oprah's "O Magazine" is probably the new miracle supplement for safe, effective weight loss for everyone wanting to lose weight.Hoodia gordonii (Hoodia) is an all-natural appetite suppressant known for having no side effects or conflicts that are associated with other weight-loss products.
How Hoodia Works.
It essentially suppresses the appetite by tricking the brain into thinking that you're full when you're not: Scientists explain that the active ingredient in Hoodia works within the hypothalamus, the satiety center of the brain, by releasing a chemical compound similar to glucose, only much stronger. The hypothalamus receives this signal as an indication that enough food has been consumed and therefore suppresses the appetite.

Drug Medical Information
HUMAN BODY CONDITIONS: FEVER
Fever is elevation of the temperature of the human body above nor-mal-namely, above 37° C. or 98.6° F. The temperature is taken with a medical thermometer, well shaken down, then placed in the mouth and kept there at least 3 minutes. Ordinary thermometers do not record above 110°; any temperature above that is likely to be fatal. A thermometer placed under the arm will record about a degree lower than one in the mouth, and a thermometer in the rectum will record about one degree higher. The temperatures of babies and small children should be taken preferably with a rectal thermometer which has a blunt tip. (Never go away and leave a child with a thermometer in place. The child may turn and break it and thus seriously injure himself.) A thermometer once used should be washed thoroughly with soap and not too hot water, then placed in alcohol for five minutes, dried, and returned to its case.
A doctor carefully studies and records changes in temperature because these changes may be so distinctive as to aid the diagnosis of the disease.
Many diseases begin with fever. Among diseases in which "fever" is part of the name of the disease are abortus fever (brucellosis or undulant fever), caused by infection with bacteria; black-water fever (hemoglobinuric fever), a disease like malaria that is associated with much bleeding; brain-fever (meningitis); camp fever (typhus); childbed fever (infection after childbirth); enteric fever (typhoid); glandular fever (infectious mononucleosis); hay fever, a form of allergy; intermittent fever (malaria); Rocky Mountain spotted fever, a form of typhus, also called mountain fever; parrot fever (psittacosis); rabbit fever (tularemia); rat-bite fever, which includes two different diseases contracted from the bites of infected rats; cat-scratch fever, caused by germs that get into the body through scratching by cats; rheumatic fever, a condition affecting the heart; scarlet fever, also known as scarlatina; Texas fever, an infectious disease of cattle; trench fever, caused by lice, like typhus fever; valley fever, an infection by coccidioidal mycoses, first discovered in California.
